Characteristics of convective environment in ALADIN reanalysis
Zacharov, Petr, jr. ; Vokoun, Martin
For the prediction and assessment of the potential for convective cloud formation, various characteristics of the convective environment are used. Values of CAPE, CIN, wind speed, and temperature at several standard levels are available from the ALADIN reanalysis outputs, from which wind shear and vertical temperature gradient can be calculated. Verification allows for point comparison with data from sounding measurements, for example, from Prague, Libuš.
Climate Change in the Area of the Czech Republic according to Various Model Simulations
Štěpánek, Petr ; Skalák, Petr ; Farda, Aleš ; Zahradníček, Pavel
In recent years, simulations from various regional climate models became available for the area of the Czech Republic, thank to several national or international projects (e.g. the EC FP6 projects CECILIA, ENSEMBLES or VaV). The simulations of the all models were performed according to the IPCC A1B emission scenario with various spatial resolutions. Since models suffer from biases, the model outputs were statistically corrected using the quantile approach of M. Déqué. After correction, RCM outputs were statistically processed and analyzed. In this paper, the differences between models outputs, as well as corrected and uncorrected results, are presented.
Comparison of numerical weather prediction models for purposes of atmospheric dispersion modeling within the grant project MV ČR VG20102013018
Hofman, Radek ; Pecha, Petr ; Hošek, Jiří
This research report concerns numerical weather prediction models and their possible exploitation for purposes of atmospheric dispersion modeling within the grant project VG20102013018 provided by the Ministry of Interior of the Czech Republic. After brief description of numerical weather prediction systems MEDARD and ALADIN, their results are compared in terms of mutual agreement.
